Balatonszemes
Balatonszemes situated in the middle of the southern shore of lake Balaton, which was already mentioned in the 11th century by the dead of foundation of the Abbey Tihany, but it has got it final name in 1912. The village is situated on the ridge of a hill and its mild slope, and on a high hill above the railway line. The actual bathing establishment is spreading on the shore under the railway line, the centre of which is the harbour. To the great pleasure of the visitors Balatonszemes belongs to the quiet, peaceful holiday resorts. It is among the villages with its many green areas and lots of trees, which were not allowed to be cut by our far-sighted ancestors, but the old, died trees were replaced by new ones. Balatonszemes is a hospitable village, to where our guests wishing to have a rest and relaxation are kindly welcomed by our village.
